Tropikale Sunshine Smoothie

This is an insanely tasty tropical kale smoothie recipe. After all, what’s a green smoothie without a fresh bunch of kale?! Apart from it using the “leafy green king”, this smoothie is packed with fresh ingredients that’ll leave you feeling better than before. And if you make a green smoothie a daily habit, you can begin to look different than before too. This this smoothie is the BEST! Why Is Kale Good For You? Kale is one of those veggies that high in nutrients and low in calories, making it one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet. According to research, a single cup of raw kale actually contains more vitamin C than an orange. You can say a lot of good about kale, but prob the thing I love the most is the fiber. Kale is a great leafy green to blend into smoothies if you struggle with constipation or irregular bowel movements. Avocado Mango Smoothie

I’m always on the hunt for easy, healthy smoothie recipes and this Avocado Mango Smoothie is a favourite! Avocado and mango are a smoothie match made in heaven. The creaminess of the avocado paired with the bright flavour of the mango works so well together! This smoothie couldn’t be easier to make! It starts with frozen mango chunks. If you like you could also use frozen banana or frozen pineapple instead of frozen mango. If you use frozen pineapple or frozen banana, you don't need to add additional ice. However,  if you use a non-frozen fruit, a cube or two of ice helps make this smoothie thick and cold. Also be sure not to add too much avocado. One whole avocado seems to be the perfect amount! For the liquid, I like to use regular milk. However you can use a combination of pineapple or orange juice and milk. For a vegan version, you can use almond or coconut milk. You can adjust the ratios to your liking based on how creamy/sweet you want the smoothie to be. You ca...

Pink Passion Smoothie

During the strawberry season, I stocked up on a lot of strawberries from the whole sale market. Getting them at a cheaper cost makes it affordable to buy in bulk and store them for future use. You can store them either as whole or make a compote which can be used on pancakes or toasts. Compote can be frozen as well.  Ingredients: 1 cup chilled milk 1 cup frozen strawberries 1 frozen banana 1/2 cup pomogranate 2-3 thin slices of beetroot 2 dates, pitted   Method: Boil the beetroot slices in 1 cup of water. Strain and set it aside to cool. Soak the dates in 1/4 cup of boiled water to soften them for 10 mins. In a blender add milk and rest of the ingredients. Serve chilled.  Stay tuned for more smoothie and healthy recipes.

With a base of frozen banana and frozen kiwi, this playful smoothie is rich in fibre to keep your "systems" in good working order. You can have this to kick start your day which is light on your tummy yet extremely nourishing. The healthy fats from the avocado takes care of good fat intake. You can also sneak in a few leaves of spinach or kale or you could leave it as is too. Either ways it tastes delicious!!! Strawberry Milkshake

Strawberries are all over in the market now. My son loves them. He loves the taste and especially the milkshake. He's quite hungry once he's back from school, and a good glass full of this milkshake just does the trick. Its an instant energizer and at the same time fills up the stomach. How to find that perfect strawberry? Well here are some things that I follow..A good strawberry must be bright red in color, particularly on the shoulder and at the cap of leaflets around the stem. The cap should be green (indicates its been plucked a couple of days ago), and the berry should have a distinct strawberry aroma. The flesh should be firm but not mushy, with an even sprinkling of seeds. Large and showy strawberries are beautiful to look at, while smaller strawberries are always more flavorful. Look for a strawberry with evenly spaced seeds along the bottom tip. Most importantly, no dark spots. While buying a container/box of strawberries, discard any that are seeping strawberr...
