Aam Ka Panna | Raw Mango Cooler

Aam Panna is a very delicious summer drink. It is a vegan and gluten-free raw mango beverage. It has heat resistant property which helps to hydrate during hot summer. The recipe is very easy to follow and can be made within half an hour. The colour of the pulp varies from green to yellow due to the type of mango used to make the pulp. Making  aam panna  is a must during the hot seasons. My grandmom always made aam panna every summer once the raw mangoes were available in the market. She made a jar full of concentrated raw mango puree and stored it in the fridge. This can be used anytime, just mix 1 or 2 spoonful of puree in chilled water and the homemade energy drink is ready. The sweet and sour taste of raw mango is spiced up with some chaat masala, salty taste of black salt, and added fresh flavour of mint leaves. To make it more flavourful you can add some crushed cardamom if you like. But it tastes even better by keeping it simple. There’s nothing like a classic  aam...

Strain it through a strainer and keep it aside in the refrigerator to chill. At the time of serving, using a motar and pessel, crush the mint. Squeeze out the juice of one lemon and set aside. Add the lemon juice and freshly crushed mint and stir well. Check the sweetness. Add sugar only if required because the Sprite or the 7Up will also be swee...

Watermelon Mojito And A Memorable Trip

Pardon my absence. The last 4 weeks have been really hectic. The weekends have been busier. I have not had time to even check my personal mailbox. I attended a photography workshop 3 weeks ago. It was the best thing that has happened in a very long time. I'm amazed at the insight I have got about my DLSR and now its no longer a "dabba" which I lug around the city :). A week later, we headed to Chennai on a family function. On our way back we visited Mahabalipuram. Here are some pictures of our trip. On the way, we also went to Kanchipuram and picked up some silk sarees....and let me tell you, they are damn cheap. I mean, if you really want to pick up lots of silk sarees for a wedding or a function at home, I think its truely worth picking it up from there. You will save at 25% on what you would have spent in Bangalore. On the other side, summer is picking up big time, and Bangalore is really hot! With the school being closed summer holidays...
